Award-winning Hammond organist/keyboardist Vel Lewis is an accomplished singer, producer, and arranger, whose music can be found on well-known TV shows The Sopranos, Mad About You, Friends, and many more. Vel has performed on the same stages with The Stylistics, Funkadelic/Parliament, Al Green, The O’Jays, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and he toured with legendary songstress Dionne Warwick for three years, before embarking on his own solo career. His single entitled “Song For My Love” from his EP “Colors Of Soul” landed on the Groove Jazz Music.com “Top 100” chart for 2014 with over 1,600 spins and 375,000 streams. “Song For My Love” and his Holiday rendition of the familiar Christmas carol “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” both landed on the 58th Annual Grammy Awards ballot for consideration. His latest single, "Houston Strong" which he dedicated to all the Harvey survivors, was recently submitted and approved to be on the 61st Annual Grammy Awards ballot for consideration.
